New Board Members Osten and Harapiak
Industry and business expertise added in the form of independent board members
Toronto, Ontario – November 28, 2005 - Software Innovation, the provider of Coreworx™ project collaboration solutions for large capital projects, today announced that the company has added two new independent board members to its Board of Directors, Ruby Osten and Stephen Harapiak.
Ruby Osten, a respected authority in the North American technology industry for over 25 years, has achieved a number of impressive business successes in his career. Most notably, he co-founded and grew PC DOCS Group International Inc., a NASDAQ and TSE listed company. Mr. Osten served as PC DOCS President and CEO until the company was acquired in 1999 at which time it was ranked among the world's top 100 software companies with $200 million in revenue. PC DOCS had offices in 20 countries and a workforce of over 1,000 employees. Mr. Osten is actively involved in providing entrepreneurial leadership to numerous high growth companies in the software, Internet, wireless and micro payments industries. As independent chair, Mr. Osten will bring to the Board and to Software Innovation a strategic expertise in enterprise software.
Stephen Harapiak brings a rich background in mining, project management, and engineering to the Board. Beginning with a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Manitoba in 1959, Mr. Harapiak embarked on an impressive career that led to leadership positions at firms including Noranda, Davy International (now Kvaerner) and Potash Corporation. More recently, Mr. Harapiak has been involved in international resource industry projects at a senior level including operations in Russia, ranging from a General Director position at a $230 million gold mining operation to recent work with the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank, dealing with small and medium enterprises supplying the resource industries in that region. Mr. Harapiak will bring valued industry experience and expertise to the Board and will be instrumental in helping Software Innovation to address the needs of the resource sector.
