Sandvine expands presence in EMEA New offices, territory leaders for southern, central and northern Europe Basingstoke, Hampshire, UK – March 8, 2004: Sandvine Incorporated has deepened its presence in the Europe, Middle East and Africa sales region with the opening of new offices in France and Germany, and the addition of three key area executives. Joining Sandvine are Cyril Fhal, South European Sales Manager; Rob Harrison, North European Sales Manager and Erik Klaproth, Central European Sales Manager (see bios below). This expanded capacity will enhance Sandvine’s overall EMEA sales & support operations while enabling the company to better meet the demands of specific national markets for Sandvine’s range of peer-to-peer policy management and worm mitigation products. “Internet worms and peer-to-peer file sharing continue to pose serious cost challenges for service providers in every corner of the globe,” said Dave Caputo, president and CEO of Sandvine. “The establishment of new area offices and dedicated territory personnel within EMEA signals our commitment to help providers everywhere better protect the overall broadband experience for their subscribers.” Manager Bios: Sandvine EMEA Cyril Fhal Cyril Joins Sandvine from Intranode, where he was VP sales for Europe, responsible for building Intranode’s sales team, generating its first 100 accounts and building sales channels and alliances in the vulnerability assessment and attack signature recognition markets. Prior to that Cyril was managing director, southern Europe for Access360 (since acquired by IBM); and director of global and major accounts for Checkpoint Software, where he helmed sales strategy for the European security and bandwidth management markets. Cyril has a Masters Degree in Economics from Creteil University. He lives in Paris. - - - Rob joins Sandvine from Axiowave where he was director of sales for the UK & Ireland, responsible for sales and business development activities for the territory’s wireline and wireless telecommunications operators, educational networks and network service providers. Prior to Axiowave Rob was a co-founder of Virtual Access, responsible for European Sales and instrumental in establishing the company’s presence in the US and Asia. Rob is a past member of the board of directors for the Global ISDN Industry Forum and the Future Access Technologies Forum. He lives in Hampshire, UK. - - - Erik joins Sandvine from Jetstream Inc., where he was director of business development CE, responsible for establishing direct sales contacts and key partner relationships with Nokia, Lucent and Marconi. Prior to Jetstream Erik was director of business development CE at Lucent, where he led a sales team of 14 people concentrating on the Central European Carrier market. He joined Lucent after a successful stint at 3Com as sales manager responsible for direct and indirect sales strategy for the Advanced Solution Provider market. Erik lives in Bingen, Germany.
