Peoples Telephone Cooperative selects Sandvine to enhance the broadband experience for subscribers Quitman, TX and Waterloo, ON; December 7, 2004 -- Sandvine Incorporated today announced that Peoples Telephone Cooperative has selected Sandvine’s award-winning IP service control platform to improve the subscriber experience on its DSL broadband network. Hard-to-manage traffic created by the latest crop of popular broadband applications threatens ISPs with rising costs and the potential for degraded network performance. Selecting the right tools for controlling this traffic — e.g. technologies that do so in a subscriber-friendly way — presents unique challenges. Many solutions offer some cost reductions but negatively impact subscriber freedom of choice and degrade the overall Internet experience. Texas-based Peoples is deploying Sandvine’s award-wining product to help manage its network costs while preserving and even improving its subscribers’ superior online experience. "We wanted a solution that would maximize the value of our current infrastructure and give us improved visibility into our network traffic,” said John Burford, Network Manager at Peoples Telephone Cooperative. “We need to stay ahead of broadband trends so that we can provide our subscribers with the services that they require. Sandvine’s IP service control platform allows us to see what’s happening on our network, set policies for the different traffic types, reduce network costs and still maintain our premium online experience for our subscribers.” ABOUT PEOPLES TELEPHONE COOPERATIVE, INC.
